2010 Super Showcase Players Checklist
2010 | 2011 | 2012

Rashaad Richardson was an assassin at the Super Showcase.  Richardson has his confidence back & is shooting lights.  No one was capable of guarding him. It was good to see the 6’4 Oldsmar Christian (Oldsmar, FL) wing playing at high level.  He played with a lot of passion & did a good job of rebounded in traffic.

Jared Guest-The 6’9 big man from Richland Northeast (Columbia, SC) did a super job using his length to alter shots.  He didn’t get a great deal of post up touches but was very active on the offensive glass.  We came away impressed with his effort at the Super Showcase.

Michael Brown came in as a shooter & left as a shooter.  The 6’3 SG from Hinesville, Ga (First Presbyterian Christian) is a shooting guard with range who has the ability to play some point but we like him in a position to shoot.  Brown made some deep threes off the dribble & off the catch.  He did a decent job of driving to the basket but we would have liked to see him establish a mid range game.

AJ Ansley-Ansley is a 6’5 forward from First Presbyterian Christian (Hinesville, GA). He did a great job of using his powerful build to score in the low post.  Ansley made a couple of nice back to the basket moves.  He is more power than finesse.  Ansley also did a fine job of rebounding.

Post graduate Joseph Horne from Crisp Academy (Cordele, GA) had a nice day of work playing the role of utility man.  Horne hit three after three, rebounded & finished on the inside with head fakes.  He scrapped for loose balls, took charges & event got on the floor a couple of times. Horne is a player who excels in a more structured setting but the 6’5 wing really had his A game today.

Keith Johnson from Lower Richland (Hopkins, SC) looked good early shooting the ball from the outside.  He made a couple of threes but seemed to shoot it best inside the arc.  Johnson needs to mix it a little more & help rebound.  He is a very long 6’4 guard & needs to use this to his advantage.

Torrance Outing Jr- The 6’2 combo guard from Lower Richland (Hopkins, SC) did a nice job of using his size to shield off smaller guards on drives to the rim.  Outing got into & finished whenever he wanted.  He is also a good playmaker.  We like him at the point given his size. We aren’t so sure how well he shoots it but he didn’t need to today.

Juwan Hugue- Hugue is a 6’7 power forward out of Ridgeland, SC (Ridgeland).  He has nice touch around the basket & did a good job of rebounded out of his area. Hugue has grown at least 2 inches since the summer.

Bradley Smith- Smith is a 6’4 lefty combo forward from Keenan (Columbia, SC). He excels in the high post area where he can make the jumper, drive or pass.  He is becoming a better ball handler.  He caused matchup problems for bigger defenders all day.

Quinton Brown - The 6’0 combo guard from Hemingway, SC (Hemingway) really has a knack for scoring.  Brown is one of the best scorers in South Carolina & was one at the Super Showcase.  Brown is a streaky three point shooter but is tough out of the lane.  He has good strength that allows him to take hits & still finish.  Brown is at his best playing off the ball which allows him the freedom to score.

James Whitehead from Dreher (Columbia, SC) is a 6’0 shooting guard who seemed to make all the right plays.  He hit the open man, defended, rebounded, played with intensity, & was deadly from the perimeter.  Whitehead plays the game the right way.

Marquis “Pooh” Simuel- The 6’4 AC Flora (Columbia, SC) wing powered his way to the rim for layups & close range jumpers.  We really like his size but he is more of a SF than SG at this point.  Scored & rebounded well all day.
